Srinagar, Feb 27 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government ordered the reinstatement of Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Principal of Government Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Sopore, following a suspension review.
Rather, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), was suspended on October 9, 2024, and was attached to the office of the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Baramulla. An inquiry was conducted by the Director of School Education, Kashmir, who later recommended his reinstatement.
After reviewing the findings, the Suspension Review Committee, chaired by the Principal Secretary of the School Education Department, decided to reinstate Rather with immediate effect.
The government order, a copy of which lies with KNO, states that the period of suspension will be treated as duty, but the officer will be censured. The Director of School Education, Kashmir has been directed to submit a proposal regarding his transfer.
The order confirms that Mushtaq will continue as Principal of BHSS Sopore until further notice—(KNO)
